These Austills & Austells, beginning with William & Dorothy, were of the Quaker faith. Some of their names are mentioned in a book called "A Collection of the Sufferings of the People called Quakers" by Joseph Besse, London. Joseph, Sarah, and sons Joseph & William were received by the Philadelphia Monthly Meeting of Friends on 26 Nov 1699. Joseph apparently died in 1703 as there is a recorded discussion of which Quaker Meeting was to be charged with their care. No further mention has been found in Quaker Minutes. It is probable that Sarah may have remarried outside of the Quaker Faith. The Isaac, listed as the third child of Joseph & Sarah, is not proven. The Joseph Austell, who married Elizabeth Enggersell (Ingersol), in Boston, on 19 Jan 1721, is likely the eldest son of Joseph & Sarah. He had a brother named Isaac Austell.
