(bb) Robert Nichols Austell married Janet Faye Whitaker in 1973.

(cc) Hugh Franklin Austell Anita Christine Blanton, in 1978.

(c-4) Bobby was born in 1932. He attended Catawba College and was in the Navy for four years. He lives in Charlotte, N. C. He died in 1991.

(d) Hopson Austell was married to Mary C. Hamrick, June 21,1930. He died March 24, 1959. They had one daughter, Carson, who is married to Carlos Coppage and now live in Greensboro, N.C. Carson and Carlos Coppage have two daughters, Karon Elaine Coppage, born in 1964, and Mary Kimberly born July 5, l967.

4. Michael Austell was born March 14, 1866, and died October 12, 1895, of typhoid fever. He married Violet Logan, October 10, 1894. She died June 10, 1955. They had one son, Michael Hugh Austell, Jr. who was born September 27, 1895 He married Alice Walton Bradley, August 15, 1931. He served in the Army in World War I from 1917 to 1919 in World War II and in World War II from 1940 to 1955. After attaining the rank of Colonel, he was retired for physical disability. Colonel Austell was United States Property and Fiscal Officer for North Carolina from 1947 to 1955. Colonel and Mrs. Austell now live in Raleigh, N.C.

5. James Borders Austell was born July 22, 1867, and died December 23 1942. He was married to Douglas Cline, March 29, 1892. She died December 14, 1938. To this union were born three children; Lois, Cline, and Frank.

(a) Lois Austell was born July 19, 1895. She was a school teacher. She married G. Lee Goode, a merchant, August 25, 1920. He died August 2, 1968. They have one daughter, Ellen Louise. Lois died April 24, 1987.

(a-i) Ellen Louise was born, 1924. She received a B.S. degree in Science from Winthrop College. Louise worked for National Institute of Health in Washington, D. C. for three and one-half years. She married John Robert Scoggins, a graduate of Clemson University in Industrial Arts. He is a World War II veteran. They have four children; John Robert, Jr., 1950; Ellen Goode, 1952; Janet Love, 1954; and Ernest Lee, 195-.

(aa) John Robert, Jr. married Ann Sims, December 24, 1974.

(bb) Ellen Goode married Anthony Montgomery Kindred, Aug. 3, 1974

(b) James Cline Austell, Sr. was married to Ruth Lancaster of Pacolet, S.C., March 17, 1921. She received her A.B. degree from Furman University and was a teacher. They have five children; James C. Jr., Mary Frances, Maynard L. "Gabe", Douglas Elizabeth (Beth), and Raymond Morris. James Austell Sr., who was engaged in construction business, died September 16, 1972 of cancer. Ruth L Cline died July 18, 1992.
