(c-i) Virginia Louise was born 1911 She finished high school at Greer, S.C. and attended Queens College, Charlotte, N.C. She majored in public school music. She was married to Merl Maithy Long, December 20,1930. He graduated in law at Wake Forest College and County Solicitor of Mecklenburg County at the time of his death this union were born two daughters; Virginia Louise and Shirley Mae.

(aa) Virginia Louise was born 1932. She married Marshall Lee Herrin on June 9, 1951. Born to this union were three children; Theresa Lynn Herrin, 1952, Marsha Lou Herrin, 1955 and Merl Lee Herrin, 1957.

(bb) Shirley Mae was born 1935. She married James Thomas Johnson, in 1954. Born to this union was one son, Samuel Christopher Johnson, 1957. Louise Long's second marriage was to Dr. Flynn Vincent Long, June 24, 1960. Dr. Long is Elect-Executive Secretary to Presbyterian of Central Texas. They live at Fortworth, Texas. Louise Bettis Long died January 23, 1991.

(c-2) Eugene Wryley Bettis was born March 11, 1913. He finished high school at Greer, S.C. , and attended Gardner Webb College. He married Cleo Boozer, October 10, 1937. Cleo was born December 22, 1918. Eugene entered the Navy, October 12, l943. He served on Destroyer Edison was in the invasion of Normandy and did escort duty in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. He received an honorable discharge, Dec. 8, 1945. Three children were born to Eugene Bettis and wife; Patricia Lee, 1943; Eugenia Ann, 1951; and Eugene Wryley, Jr. 1954. Eugene Bettis, Sr. is now in the drug business in Greer, South Carolina. Eugene died August 20, 1991.

(c-3) Allen Lowery Bettis was born1916. He finished high school at Shelby, N.C. He was married to La Vada Claudle, August 16, 1936. La Vada was born March 30, 1918. To this union were born two children; La Vada Diane and Allen Lowery Bettis, Jr. Allen Lower Bettis, Sr. has been with the Associated Transport Co. For twelve years he was Supervisor of Stock and Supplies. He is now purchasing agent for Associated Co., and Brown Equipment.

(aa) La Vada Diane Bettis was born 1937. She married Lt. Roscoe Barlow Herrington, May 17, 1958. He graduated from The Citadel and is now Personal Sciology at Recruiting Station in Knoxville, Tenn. To this union was born Laura Diane Herrington, 1959.

(bb) Allen Lowery Bettis, Jr. was born in 1946.

(bb-l) Allen Kim Bettis was born in 1960.

(c-4) Hugh Bettis, Jr. was born January 24, 1915. He died Feb. 26, 1915.
