6. Lizzie James Black died on January 28, 1922, and was unmarried.
7. Cora Janette Black married Samuel Jackson Gaston of Lowell, North Carolina on April 18, 1888, and to this marriage were born the following children to wit; W. Grady Gaston, Harley Black Gaston, Lucy Gaston, Elva Gaston, Ollie May Gaston, Mary Gaston, Walker Clark Gaston, Tillet Gaston (died in infancy), Plato Gaston (died in infancy) Lucy Gaston and Bennett Gaston. Cora Black Gaston died August 25, 1929 at Lowell, N. C.
(a) W. Grady Gaston was educated at Trinity College (now Duke University); taught school a few years, served in the A.E.F. during the World War) a married Bertha Johnston, who died leaving the following issue; W. Gad Gaston, Jr., Mary Hill Gaston and Margaret Gaston. He married a second time to Pattie Mack Johnston He died on November 30, 1938. At the time of his death he was executive secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, Gastonia, N.C. and was a member of the State School Commission of North Carolina.
(b) Harley Black Gaston was educated at Trinity College(now Duke University) and studied at the University of North Carolina. He served in the Won War as a Second Lieutenant, being wounded during the second Battle of the Marne. From 1921 to 1925 he was a member of the House of Representatives of North Carolina, and from 1925-27 was a member of the State Senate is a practicing attorney at Belmont, North Carolina. He married Margaret Scott and to them were born three children;. Harley Black Gaston, Jr., Mary Margaret Gaston and Joan Scott Gaston.
(c) Lucy Gaston married M. R. Cunnagan. She was educated a Davenport College, Peabody College and Columbia University. They live in Raleigh, N. C.
(d) Elva Gaston was educated at Davenport College. She married Joe L. Rand and to them were born two sons; Joe L. Rand, Jr., and Sam Gaston Rand. They live in Raleigh, N. C.
(e) Ollie Gaston was educated at North Carolina College of Women, married J. S. McWhirter (now deceased). She lives at Charlotte, N. C.
(f) Mary Gaston was educated at North Carolina College for Women. She married J. C. Irvin. To them were born three children; Mary Irvin, Jan Irvin and Sally Irvin. The first two being twins. They live at Charlotte, N.C.
(g) Walker Clark Gaston was educated at Duke University. He is unmarried, is an engineer with the South Carolina Highway Department and resides at Rock Hill, South Carolina.
(h) Lacy Gaston was educated at North Carolina College for Women. She married Z. B. Bradford. To them were born two children; Sarah Bradford and Allen Bradford. They live in Raleigh, North Carolina.
