2. Avalona Borders died July 21, 1960. She was married to James F. Jenkins, Sr. December 23, 1896, and to this union were born two children to wit: Jenkins, Jr. born August 30, 1899; and Lucille born March 7, 1902. James F. Jenkins, Sr. died in Charlotte, North Carolina, January 2, l933.
(a) James F. Jenkins, Jr. married Bertha Long of Knoxville, Tennessee, March 11, 1937. He died December 25, 1959.
3. James Borders was married to Cora Mauney, February 18, 1908. They live in Charlotte, North Carolina. There are no children. James Borders died September 23, 1956.
4. Effie Borders was married to D. Y. Wesson, December 24, 1902, and to this born one son, Everette Wesson. D.. Y. Wesson died November 3, 1937 and in Columbia, South Carolina.
(a) Everette Wesson was married to. Mae Broome, April 17, 1926. There are no children. Everette Wesson died April 28, 1940 of a heart attack.
5. Charles Borders was married to Lollie Patterson, March 6, 1912, and to this union was born one son, Charles. Shuford Borders, the only great grandson of Major Hugh Borders who is living and bears the Borders name, and the only present prosp for the perpetuation of the Borders name through this branch of the family. Charles Borders and family live in Jacksonville, Florida.
6. Carrie Borders was married to Jesse B. Lowery, February 12, 1908, and to this union was born one son, Thomas Lowery, on August 24, 1909 and died September 26, 1928 at the age of nineteen years. Carrie Borders Lowery died May 17, 1938, and is buried at Sulphur Springs Church, Patterson Springs, North Carolina. Jesse B Lowery died March 29, 1964.
7. Basil Borders, the youngest son, was unmarried and lived at Patterson Springs North Carolina until his death on October 20, 1963.
8. Mildred Borders, the youngest member of the family died of tuberculosis at the age of twenty-one years, unmarried, and is buried at Grover, North Carolina.
