MICHAEL BORDERS

MICHAEL BORDERS, the second son of Major Hugh Borders and wife, Luvicy Sepaugh BordE was married October 15, 1868, to Dorinda Hambright, a daughter of Gilbert Hambright a grandson of Col. Frederick Hambright, a hero of the Battle of Kings Mountain, who, at the date of said marriage, owned and occupied the building erected by Col. Hambright as his home near the battleground of Kings Mountain.

Michael Borders was a gallant soldier in the Civil War, serving in a North Carolina Cavalry regiment. He died March 30, 1915, of paralysis. His wife, Dorinda Border died July 10, 1911 of heart trouble. Both are buried at Grover, North Carolina.

To this marriage were born eight children as follows: Pauline born August, September 29, 187l; James, March 6, 1877; Effie, April 15, Carrie, August 21, 1881; Charles, December 23, 1883; Basil, October 20,1885; and Mildred, June 29, 1889.

1. Pauline Borders was married to Jacob Hugh Quinn, February 18, 1890, and to this union were born four children to wit: Manley Herring, born January 1, 1893; Mabel, February 23, 1895; Ethel, August 31, 1897; and Aaron Borders, January 30, 1902.

(a) Manley H. Quinn died April 10, 1915, tuberculosis, unmarried at the age of 22 years. He is buried at Sunset Cemetery, Shelby, N. C.

(b) Mabel Quinn was married to Grady Bryson Lovelace, June 6, 1923, and to this union were born two children, Linda Lee Lovelace, and Hugh Bryson Lovelace who lived only one day. Mabel Quinn Lovelace died March 12, 19

(bb) Linda Lee Lovelace married. Charles T. (Pete) McBrayer in 1948. They have four sons: Charles Bryson born in 1949; Tommy Lee, 1953; Richard Bryan, 1957; and Grady Wilbur, 1959, and one daughter, Linda Lee, born June 27, 1961.

(c) Ethel Quinn died at the age of two years of membrainous croup. She is buried at Sunset Cemetery, Shelby, North Carolina.

(d) Aaron Borders Quinn was married to Katherine Briggs, January 2, 1926, an to this union were born four children: Aaron Borders Quinn, Katherine Briggs Quinn; Estelle Ennis Quinn; and Charles Hugh Quinn.

(d-l) Aaron Borders Quinn married Katherine Briggs in 1931 and died in 1950 leaving four children. Aaron Borders (Pete), Jr. married Velva Tucker in 1952. Children are Velva Tucker born in 1954, Aaron Borders, III, born in 1956, and Royster Tucker, born in 1957

(d-2) Katherine Briggs Quinn married David Wyether Royster, Jr. They have four children: Katherine Briggs, born in 1950, Margaret McMurry, 1952, Lynn, 1954 and David Wyethe, III, in 1956.

(d-3) Ennis Quinn married Tommy Lassiter in 1953. Their son, Tommy Jr. was born in 1958.

(d-4) Charles Hugh Quinn was born in 1937. He married Margaret Caron Price, December 30, 1962.
