Below I am posting some information which I received from Cousin Joseph Austell (probably about 10 yearsago) It got lost in my "Fabulous Filing System" and was only recently re-discovered. I am not sure of it's original origin, nor have I any way of validating or clarifying it. (It is from a hand-written page that was photocopied) It proports to make some connections between the known Austells in England and the earliest lines of Austells and Austills in the Colonies (italicized portions are my included comments or explanations)

Died: after Sept 1748
Married: Elizabeth Ingersol (married in Boston, Massasachusetts Colony, by Rev. Cotton Mather)
Born in England. Came with family to America when he was two years old. This Joseph had a brother named Isaac, per other records, who might be connected to Isaac Austill,
father of Major and Evan Austill, whom we find in Halifax County, Virginia, in the 1760's

Moved to Spartanburg District, South Carolina from Yadkin District, North Carolina. Had been in Yadkin District a short while. Yadkin District, Surry County, now Yadkin County, NC. Note that Isaac Austill and family, moved from Halifax County, Virginia,
to Surry County, NC, just south of Yadkinville (between 1800-1810). Major Austill and his family moved from there to Indiana in the 1830's
