My Grandfather, Elzy Monroe Austill, Sr., his second wife Laura Belle, son Elzy Monroe Austill, Jr., daughter Alma Naoma Austill, and step-son William Banks, first moved to the Flint, Michigan area in about 1927. He came to find work in the auto industry. They had lived in south-eastern Missouri, around Dexter & Sikeston. They moved back and forth several times before settling in the Flint, Michigan area to stay, in about 1934 - 1936.
Elzy, Sr., died 20 Apr 1961, in the Flint area.
Elzy, Jr., died in an automobile accident on 14 Oct 1952, also near
Flint.
Alma Naoma Austill Trier passed away 26 Dec 1986, in Flint.
Step-son William Banks also remained in the Flint area until his death
on
11 Dec 1966.
Alma was survived by her husband and 4 children, 3 which are still
living.
Elzy, Jr. is survived by his wife and three sons, David, Donald, and
William.

There is currently one other Austill in Michigan that I am aware of. She is listed in the United States Telephone Directory as living in Canton, Michigan. I am not acquainted with the lady and will not place her name here. I do not know of her connection with the family, nor whether Austill is her birth or married name.
I have been told that there was a Eugene Austill who lived somewhere in Michigan at one time (he was reportedly born between 1927 - 1934) but I have no other information where he might have lived nor when, nor any conformation .
The only other Austill / Austell that I have information
on, in Michigan, is
Phillip Austell, who is listed as living in Detroit in the 1900 census.
His wife was Catherine, and they had children: Walter, Margarite, Theodore,
Marie, and Oliver. I have no other information on this family either.
