Henry Howser became a slaveholder and was called to jury duty rather often in York, S. C. At the time of his death he owned over 2000 acres of land.

Henry Howser died on March 4, 1822 in his 66th year and was laid to rest in the family cemetery. He had made his last will and testament two days earlier, as is recorded in York County, S. C. His wife's will is also recorded in York County.

Christina Howser lived to be 98 years of age, dying October 30, 1856. She and Henry are buried in the family cemetery on the Kings Mountain National Park property.

The children of Henry Howser and wife were: Elizabeth; Jacob; David; Henry; Susanah; Mary; Lidia; and a fifth daughter, name unknown (married Joshua Moss).

Henry Howser married Faithy Jones ("Aunt Pinky").

Susanah Howser married John N. Whisonant.

Mary Howser married Henry Havener.

Lidia Howser married Gilbreth Dixon.

Elizabeth Howser was the first child born to Henry Howser and his wife. She was born about 1780 in Lincoln County, N. C. and married Jacob Sepaugh (probably I son of Jacob Sepaugh of Lincoln County, N. C.). The 1820 census show Jacob and Elizabeth Sepaugh as having two boys and two girls. Our records have not been completed to get the names of these children, but we do know that their daughter, Luvicy, was born March 1, 1809. They lived near the Howser family on Kings Creek in South Carolina. Both Elizabeth Sepaugh (Seapoch) and her husband, Jacob Sepaugh, are buried at Antioch Church cemetery. On their tombstones we find:

Who departed this life June 14, 1838

(Note: The names shown above were copied directly from the tombstones and the variation in spelling is only indicative of the times with regard to spelling of proper names. We have noted several variations in the spelling of the name "Sepaugh" in various records).
