A Little About The Page Author

Please allow me to introduce myself, I am David Elzy Austill.
I live near Otisville, Michigan. I was born in 1949, in Flint, Michigan.
My father, Elzy Monroe Austill, Jr., was killed in an auto accident when I was 3 years old, so I scarcely knew him. My Grandfather, Elzy Monroe Austill, Sr., died when I was about 11 yrs of age. He had, unfortunately, been stricken by a severe stroke in 1956, which left him unable to speak with any clarity. I, being unable to understand his speaking, never held a real conversation with him, so I learned nothing of the Austill family from him.

For the first 45 years of my life I did not meet, or have contact with any persons of the Austill family other than the above, my 2 brothers, and one aunt. (Unfortunately my aunt also died before I gained any active interest in Genealogy.) I had no knowledge about the family name, any of my ancestors, nor any other relatives.

All that has changed, thanks to being on-line. During the the early 1990's I met, online, the first two Austill relatives (and one on the Beach family side). Between my research efforts and the sharing of research efforts by some who have been doing research for several years, I now have my Austill ancestry traced back to 1766 in Halifax County, Virginia. (The Beach family goes back to about 1606!)

I hope to be able to do much more research, as time allows, in all my family lines, and hope, thru this Web-Page, to meet other relatives, especially Austills (& Austells) and to be able to share information with others as well as learn from them.

What drives me, genealogically?

I am really excited at learning about the family and my ancestory. My ultimate goal, at present, is to be able to trace all of the Austill / Austell lines, (at least in the U.S.), so that we can help any of our relatives, as we find them, to know where they fit into the overall family picture. Maybe that's an unrealistic hope, but let's give it a try!

My Highest Priorities:

My highest priority is my faith in Jesus Christ (Visit my testimony page),
and my next dearest loves, are my wife and 8 children.
